Using SAS and the internet!
I would be very interested in a course in SAS/ACCESS (ie not just looking at what can be done, but
how) I would like to know about how to import/export into other package (eg databasing software/ms
office)
Internet Solutions - accessing info subsetting.
Preparing for the Electronic submission to FDA - Theory and Practice

Things That Went Well

went_well
Everything!
Timings, question & Answer sessions, quality of presentations, breaks allowing discussions amongst
delegates.
Well organised - interesting range of topics.
Everything. I found the Quintiles talk very interesting.
All presentations stuck to time and clear.
The TV screens where useful. Good timings
Organisation
Interesting presentation in a good enviroment
Organisation overall. Useful map to get there.
Overall start/finish times good. Most presentation were easy to follow and well presented. Hard copy slides
with room for notes.
Presentation on data mining & warehousing were very interesting - explanation of SAS Insight was good
but could have been shorter, especially demonstration.
Very smooth organisation. Lovely setting. Liked the screens nearer the back of the room and lovely lunch.
Really enjoyed presentation from Quintiles using ODBC & OLE to interface SAS with word.
Relaxed atmosphere
Everything really. Good food. What happened to the gents toilets!
Found the Quintiles presentation very interesting, mainly because it was so practical and constructive.
The meeting went very well. thank you
Lunch was great, the extra screen nearer the back was a big help nice comfy chairs. Mainly well
run, speakers kept to their time limits, lots of chance for questions.
Interesting day with different subjects. not much new, but it gives you a flavour that what you are
doing is not totally different. Food was superb and accomodation.
Good, well qualified speakers, well co-ordinated logistics Just right!
Presentations clear and precise - 45 mins good time.
Presentations good

Things We Could Have Done Better

we_can_improve
ALIGNMENT OF PROJECTORS SO LEFT HAND SIDE IS ON SCREEN NOT ON THE WALL, TEMPERATURE CONTROL
IN THE ROOM.
Food! Could not tell what was vegetarian.
I WOULD HAVE LIKED MORE TECHNICAL DISCUSSION, SOME OF THE PRESENTATIONS WERE TOO MUCH OF AN OVERVIEW
Lunch was nice but "bitty". Proper sandwiches, too, please.
Nothing - it was really very good
PRESENTATION ROOM TOO HOT!!
More demos
More seating during coffee & lunch
I WOULD HAVE LIKED SOME DEMOS ON DATA MINING/WAREHOUSING.
Don't change the timetable
Indicate on programme if a presentation has been at Seugi
Move nearer Cambridge - so I can avoid M25 to get here.
The demo of the Pharma technology SAS Software was a little difficult to follow. OLE/ODBC presentation
interesting, but presenting style was dry.
If possible make demos shorter and explain more technically advanced, specific questions after presentation.
Not working in the clinical team I would benefit from understanding how SAS can be exploited for non-clinical
data or epidemiological data
Perhaps the day was too long
Don't change the agenda too much from when original goes out particularly timelines.
More cold drinks
Make sure (don't know how) people don't ramble & repeat the same thing over and over.
I don't know if it is always the case but there was no taxi at Marlow Station
Maybe a teabreak in the morning.
Cold soft juice type drinks available during breaks
Shorter & more presentation of a technical nature
MORE DETAIL ON ODBC & OLE - PRACTICAL EXAMPLE ON WEB WHICH WE CAN REFERENCE

Suggestions For Next Time

Next_time
MORE PHARMATECHNOLOGY PRODUCTS EG PH-KINETIC. APPLICATION OF NEW VERSION 8 C APABILITIES WITHIN THE
PHARMA INDUSTRY
more technical demos
I heard of a tips & techniques event that was scheduled for October of this year. If this is going ahead
would you please send me information regarding this.
V8 info
More Demos
Fewer presentations more suited to general conference. and more technical stuff that gives no useable
information, or stimulating ideas.
One less presentation in the afternoon - was flagging by the last or have lunch later , and lengthen
the morning by one presentation.
Not specifially next time - would be interested in more information on data mining and its application
to database and prospective data analysis to acess potential data sources.
If you want to keep the same number of sessions, start earlier & have more breaks.
Have more practical solutions like ODBC & OLE presentation. Perhaps how to actually "do" data mining.
Maybe a bit more on "how" as well as "what".
LARGE DATA - Performance accessing (Technology) what to avoid. Data
Model - Preferable for info delivery MDDB!
KEEP THE MIX OF UK/EUROPEAN SPEAKERS - INDUSTRY IS INTERNATIONAL
See above
MORE TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS AND SHORTER LENGTH
